The forecast called for it, we all knew it....RAIN! Darn it rain!!!
My heart was heavy with the brides family's expectations of good weather for their girls special day....when rain was falling just minutes before her outside ceremony started....i was praying for the rain to stop, long enough to dry off chairs and go right into the ceremony. Please Sun...please?!
Sorry...mother nature made the call on this one....it was going to rain....as the guests poured in i noticed, some with umbrellas... most without. The pastor and i had talked (in advance) about maybe shortening the ceremony a bit to ease at least some of the guests discomfort. Maybe shave a verse or two from the program.
it's time! Ceremony music starts...procession rolls and moms are seated... guys and gals make the entrance in a limo, then the bride enters....in a coach and buggy... the soggy ceremony commences. For a moment as the vows were exchanged...the rain lets up, peacefulness settles on the crowed as one cloud moved aside to let a single ray of light beaming onto the bride and groom... it was awesome! Sequin's on the brides wedding dress shined as they were diamonds!
The ceremony ended...bride and groom kissed and exited in a helicopter! that was awesome too!
I work with extraordinary couples! Tim and Eva go above most of my experiences because i know their story. I have to share this....since...We were supposed to do this wedding for over a year now! Tim and Eva have been together several years and had to wait... because Eva has been in and out of hospitals that have been working to keep her alive from a rare physical disorder.
Despite the rain.....Thier day was perfect...they spent the day hugging, kissing and embracing this day that they never thought was going to happen!
So it rained! Big deal!
Thank you for including me in your awesome day Eva and Tim! Your wedding was beautiful!
